Once in a lifetime portraits for once in a lifetime moments.
Haley contacted me to reserve a portrait session to celebrate their upcoming wedding anniversary, but I wasn’t expecting this…
She mentioned it was a long-time joke between she and her fella, that she could never keep a secret. BUT she had a doozie of a secret and wanted to completely surprise the love of her life with it.
She was expecting!
This moment was so important to her. She knew it needed to be preserved. She wanted to have the emotion, the reaction, the surprise of a life time kept forever. YES! What better moment in someone’s life to have photographed and saved for generations to come. How sweet will this be to share with their baby, so they can see the mountain of joy mom and dad had for their arrival. Can’t you see them sharing this history with their grandchildren one day?!? I love it! (I admit, I was a bit jealous I hadn’t done this with my hubby.)
After a few weeks of planning, we met in the field. We began with really fun, unposed portraits. Then, we moved toward the big moment where they each shared one thing the other does that makes them feel really loved.
I’ll let the story unfold from here. He loves that she buys him sweets. She loves that he is going to be a daddy.
His reaction was a tender, joy that simply cannot be explained in words. (Someone was chopping onions in the field that evening or maybe it was just my eye allergies acting up again. Darn watery eyes.)
