This daily light show is spectacular, and it’s free. Toyland (Mile of Sunshine) was always a yearly must for my family, complete with it’s own radio station to hear the light display set to Christmas favorites! This display is individually owned and operated, and raises a very generous donation each year to the Home of the Innocents.
Bundle up the your family for a fun walk around Brown Park. It’s located just behind Baptist Hospital in St Matthews, and not too far from the studio! This event is free.
A one mile, walk around event with over 100,000 lights at Louisville’s beloved Parklands (Beckley Creek). This even does require tickets, and rumor has it you might find a Groupon for admission.
Light up Bardstown and Light Up Mt Washington KY
Mt Washington and Bardstown aren’t too far from Louisville and are easy drives. Enjoy the small town, Hallmark movie feel to these lovely towns as they light up to bring a little holiday cheer to 2020! Visit 168 N Bardstown Rd, Mt Washington, KY 40047 (The Logston Auction House) and the neighboring farmer’s market location for a photo stop with the family in Mt Washington. Business and homes in Bardstown will be full of twinkly light magic from 6:00-10:00 each evening.
Enjoy a 30 minute ride underground at one of Louisville super cool locations while viewing displays that total over 3,000,000 twinkling lights! This has become a yearly tradition for many families, who enjoy piling into their car in Christmas jammies, with all the Christmasy snacks and hot chocolate one can enjoy. This event is ticketed.

Kentucky is known for it’s horses and bourbon, but this time of year Buffalo Trace is known for it’s beautiful light display. This event is free.
This sparkly event is taking over Louisville’s historic Iroquois Park. Enjoy a comfy, cozy drive through this light display that boasts of a few million lights! This event is ticketed, and they even offer a sensory friendly event this year for families on December 29th.
